Biography

In her role as ‘Sprotte’, the leader of the ‘Wild Chicks’ girlie gang, Michelle von Treuberg became the idol of a multitude of teenage girls. Michelle was born on November 9th, 1992 in the Bavarian town of Starnberg. The 25-year-old gained her first acting experience with the local theatre group and was able to claim her first serious acting role by pure chance. Michelle was discovered by Rita Serra-Roll, a casting agent, while she was at the riding stables of a relative and was consequently suggested for the role of Hilde Speer in a TV trilogy named ‘Speer und er’ (‘Speer and him’, a film about Albert Speer’s role in the upper echelons of the Third Reich). Michelle then stood in front of the film camera for the first time alongside big names such as Sebastian Koch, Tobias Moretti and Axel Milberg.

In the same year, Michelle played a supporting role in the TV drama ‘Dem Himmel sei dank’ (Thank heavens) with Marie-Luise Marjan, Ulrich Pleitgen and Ralph Herforth.  Her next role was as the younger daughter of Bernadette Heerwagen in the film ‘Die Hochzeit meines Vaters’ (My father’s wedding).

Michelle’s breakthrough came with the leading role as Sprotte in the ‘Wild Chicks’ film series, based on the bestselling books by Cornelia Funke. In the films, Michelle is the daughter of a single (chaotic) mother, played by Germany’s superstar Veronica Ferres. The first tongue-in-cheek comedy film drew over one million viewers to the cinemas in Germany. In the sequel ‘Die wilden Hühner und die Liebe’, Michelle played next to Hollywood star Thomas Kretschmann, who plays the role of her long-lost father, who suddenly reappears after years of absence. Michelle was nominated for the Undine Award for the best young actress for this role. Michelle ended her role as Sprotte with the third film, ‘Die wilden Hühner und das Leben’, after completing the respective audio books for the respective films. In 2009 she was given a special award in the category ‘Film’ of the ‘New Faces Awards’ of the BUNTE magazine.

In the same year, Michelle took on a new role in an episode of the ‘SOKO Köln’ police series for TV, as Rosalie, the daughter of the Police Commissioner Frank Hansen (Jophie Ries). After finishing her formal education and studying at the University of Passau, Michelle returned to filming in 2018 as Kim, a riding instructor in Vivian Naefe’s film series ‘Reiterhof Wildenstein’ for ARD Degeto. From there on Michelle decided to concentrate completely on acting and was signed by the prestigious acting agency BAUMBAUER ACTORS .
